July 17th, 2011The Austrian top flight restarted with a bang on Saturday as Wiener Neustadt goalie Joerg Siebenhandl scored just two minutes into the new season. Much like the goal which San Jose keeper David Bingham scored against West Brom last week in a friendly, Siebenhandl sat back and watched his massive hoof upfield miss everyone before bouncing it's way into the net. Obviously the goal was unintentional. After Neustadt were awarded a free-kick just outside their area, the hosts looked to switch the play up the other end of the field. Siebenhandl was handed responsibility to smack the ball long, and the 20-year-old could hardly believe it when his sailed 80-yards, hit the turf, and embarrassed his opposite number Thomas Borenitsch.
