All aboard the Var: France's flagship in Asia

http://www.scmp.com/video Docking under ominous weather, French naval vessel The Var dropped its anchor into Hong Kong waters for a week-long visit. As part of the French Joint Command in the Indian Ocean, The Var and its fleet covers a massive area from East Africa stretching to the South China Sea. Unlike most warships that visit Hong Kong, The Var is not a combat vessel. It's mission is to provide logistical support to French and allied forces in its operating area. The ship includes 160 personnel and is also the home to the fleet's command staff. In this video, meet the main in charge of France's naval forces in the area, Vice Admiral Gerard Valin as he discusses his country's role in combating piracy.
