Alexandra Burke to climb the Andes for charity
X Factor success story Alexandra Burke is preparing for a nine-day trek across the Andes alongside celebrities Fearne Cotton, Denise Van Outen and Holly Willoughby. The singer will travel to the Inca trail in Peru to raise money and awareness for Breast Cancer Care, a cause close to her heart after her aunt Jean recently passed away from the disease. Taking place next month, their 80km high altitude challenge through the Andes range and the Amazon rainforest will be shown in a two-part documentary on ITV2. Alex says she is "scared" and "excited" by the project, and she is doing her best to get fit for the event. "Dancing keeps me going but for this you need to train with a backpack on your back, so there's some training that needs to be done", she said.
