Akamai Debuts New Ad Solutions Service

The offering, bolstered by data from the recently acquired acerno, will help advertisers target attractive audience segments. With the new service, Akamai is diversifying its offerings beyond the crowded CDN market. (Silicon Alley Insider ran an interesting piece in September about the growing competition in the CDN industry.) Andy interviewed Mike Afergan, Chief Technology Officer and Senior VP for Advertising Decision Solutions, at last night's market launch of Insight for Publishers. "For a large media company like an IAC, or someone else who has many different properties, what we allow them to do is to gather than information from across all their different properties, bring that together, package it in a way relevant to advertisers, and deliver it in real time," he says.
