Airport Glitch Corrected

(DHA) The construction of the airport in the district of Gazipasa in Antalya was completed 9 years ago. It cost 36 million YTL. However, it couldn't be opened due to the possible threat that Gokketir Mountain would cause during take-offs and landings. General Directorate of State Airports Authority tendered the Gazipasa Airport after many years. In the bid, TAV Airports Holding received the operating rights for 25 years by paying 65% of the net profit. The company also operates the Istanbul Ataturk and Ankara Esenboga Airports and hopes to create an airport with many international passengers. The residents of Alanya and Gazipasa are looking forward to seeing the airport in service. Officials in the region believe tourism investment will increase with the project as well.
