Advanced Kidney Cancer: On Sutent

A 53-year-old male has pains in his right shoulder for almost a year. An X-ray did not show any problem. But his rigt hand became weak. An MRI showed tumour in his spine - T1/T2. He underwent 20 radiation treatments, but his tumour became bigger and spread to his liver, lungs and abdomen. He was started on Sutent (costs RM20,000 per cycle) in January 2009. An MRI in February 2009 showed a large mass in C3 to C7. There were more metastasis in T1/T2 and T5/T6. Sadly, SC died on 30 April, 2009.
