ADL's controversial leader reinstated

The U.S. - based Jewish Anti-Defamation League (ADL) reinstated Andrew Tarsy, who was fired for recognizing the Armenian Genocide, as its New England regional director. According to the Associated Press, this took place after he met with ADL National Director Abraham Foxman. The latter although recognizing the World War I massacre of Armenians as “tantamount to genocide”, continues to stand by his opposition to supporting the pending Congressional resolution that calls the massacre a genocide, calling it “a counterproductive diversion and will not foster reconciliation between Turks and Armenians.” Meanwhile Tarsy said he was “delighted to be back on the job”, and informed that ADL’s governing body will also take up the Armenian issue when it meets in November.
