At a rally in front of the U.S. Justice Department, in Washington, DC, on May 11, 2007, attorney Luis Rumbaut argued for the extradition to Venezuela of Luis Posada Carriles. He also submitted in the alternative that Carriles be charged by the U.S. Attorney General, Alberto R. Gonzales, with offenses related to his alleged ties to terrorism. Mr. Rumbaut relied in part on letters to the U.S. Attorney General in the matter of Carriles, which had been sent to the A.G. by Rep. Dennis Kucinich (D-OH) and Rep. William D. Delahunt (D-MA). The rally was sponsored by the ANSWER Coalition, among other groups. Mr. Rumbaut is a former Assistant A.G. for the District of Columbia. Sarah Sloan of ANSWER introduced all of the speakers at the protest action/rally. The video also featured: Wayne Smith, Sonia Umanzor, Canek Martinez and Eugene Puryear.
