A history of Labor Day

A history of Labor Day

(Abbas Saddak, NECN) - For many the unofficial end of summer, labor day, originated in 1882 when a New York City labor union sought to create "a day off for the working citizens". Today, the city of Lawrenc, Massachusetts honored one of its own laborers -- killed during a textile strike back in 1912. NECN videographer Abbas Saddak takes us to this Labor Day event.
