The Atonement The Atonement is like a radiant diamond with many facets that has been covered over with blackness, covered over with the ego’s "i know" beliefs. As one forgives false assumptions the diamond is uncovered (atoned) facet by facet. The perfect diamond is then able to radiate through the darkness. The atonement is a complete experience, a complete commitment to forgiveness, which opens the mind to what is true. When the diamond is completely uncovered (forgiven) and seen totally (all facets reveled), then one has accepted the Atonement. The Atonement is total, it’s complete; it isn't partial. Do not seek for the Atonement, the Atonement undoes the seeker. To seek for what is true will block you from Love’s awareness, but to seek for what is false (i know mind), is what it means to atone or undo. The seeker is to be redirected inward. “Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all of the barriers within yourself that you have built against it. It is not necessary to seek for what is true, but it is necessary to seek for what is false. Every illusion is one of fear, whatever form it takes. And the attempt to escape from one illusion into another must fail. If you seek love outside yourself you can be certain that you perceive hatred within, and are afraid of it. Yet peace will never come from the illusion of love, but only from its reality.” (T.16.IV.6.2)
