The bag Burke has stated was discovered in NY, was widely reported to be found in the Boston Greyhound station. Media sources included Sgt Carmen Tamarro and Trooper Andrew Palombo. Investigators in Hamilton, MA, where Joan's remains were found in 1990, suspected Joan may have been murdered by someone she knew. Discovery of her bag in NY is in close proximity to Joan's hometown of Glen Ridge, NJ. The Websters called a meeting in late February 1982. The 3 DA offices in attendance would have been Suffolk County, Essex County, and Middlesex County. Also in attendence where members of the Logan Airport detective unit. That would be Sgt Carmen Tamarro and Trooper Andrew Palombo. Tim Burke was assigned to the Webster case at that meeting. There was no known crime at that time for him to prosecute. Trooper Palombo, chief investigating officer of the Iannuzzi case, was also assigned to the case. Palombo did not consider Doyle a suspect in that crime. Palombo had an ongoing relationship with Doyle where they met several times. Palombo was an undercover cop that worked with informants in EB.
