Locomotive:- ET WDM-3D #11197 and ET WDM-3A #16073. Train:- 12628 New Delhi - Bangalore Karnataka Express. Date:- 24-07-11 , 13.04 hrs. Location:- Baiyyappanahalli (BYPL) , Bangalore. Camera:- Canon SX130IS. This is one of the legendary trains of SWR. One strange thing is that this train should belong to SR as its train number is 2627/2628 and the 2nd digit is 6 which denotes Southern Railway. This train covers a distance of 2406km in 40h 25m with an average moving speed of 62km/hr. Usual link for this train is CNB WAP4 from NDLS to ET. From ET, the diesel twins WDM-3D and a WDM-3A from ET shed haul it all the way till SBC. This train has RSA ( Rake sharing arrangement ) with the 12658 Chennai Mail. This train has 1 First AC coach, 2 AC 2 tier coaches, 3 AC 3 tier coaches, 13 sleeper class coaches, 2 unreserved coaches and a Pantry car, excluding the luggage vans. Pantry is not used by 2657/58 and is detached at SBC. This train met with an accident in 1991 in the Makalidurga ghats at about 50 km from Bangalore on a rainy evening.
