3 Americans share 2009 Nobel medicine prize

STOCKHOLM (AP) - The 2009 Nobel Prize in medicine has been awarded to Americans Elizabeth Blackburn, Carol Greider and Jack Szostak. The Karolinska Institute says the trio was honored for research that has implications for cancer and aging research. The award, announced Monday, includes a 10 million kronor (US$1.4 million) purse, a diploma and an invitation to the prize ceremonies in Stockholm on Dec. 10. (Copyright 2009 by The Associated Press.
