Apple are moving forward by upgrading most of the components of the Apple iTunes Ecosystem. In the past few weeks we’ve had a brand new version of iTunes - iTunes 10, the re-branding of AirTunes to AirPlay, the launch of a new Apple TV based on iOS as well as a new universal version of the Remote application, now available on iPod touch, iPhone and iPad. We even have the promise of additional AirPlay functionality in iOS 4.2 scheduled for November, allowing us to stream content from our iOS 4 devices to the Apple TV. This week’s show takes a looks at all the currently available components and guides you through the configuration and operation of the iTunes EcoSystem. Starting with a simple single iTunes installation, through to a multi iTunes system with Airport Express, Apple TV and Remote application on the iPad. I take a look at the basics of Home Sharing, the technology that seamlessly allows you to browse and access multiple iTunes libraries and add libraries and devices to the Remote application. The show also explores the new Apple TV including installation and configuration, along with a comparison with the 1st Generation Apple TV.
