Song: Plate Tectonics; Django Haskins' THE OLD CEREMONY. This was The Old Ceremony's "Walk on Thin Air" cd release, 2/14/09, Valentine's night, Carrboro NC's famous Cat's Cradle. The Cradle was festooned (yep, festooned) with red and white Chinese lanterns hanging from the stage ceiling. Beautiful! The Old Ceremony played to a full-house crowd, with fans who had to be turned away at the door. Chapel Hill group/now-Nashville Roman Candle (http://www.myspace.com/romancandle) opened the night, lighting an explosion of energy and one-upmanship. TOC was up for the downed gauntlet, and gave us one of their best performances ever. The night was unparalleled for best shows from groups who should but have not yet become household names.
