Havre de Grace ($6.50) beat the boys in Saturday's Grade 1 Woodward Stakes, running down pacesetter Rule in midstretch and holding off a late run from Flat Out to win the 1 1/8-mile race by a length and one-quarter under Ramon Dominguez. Havre de Grace rallied three wide on the far turn to go after Rule, who had been clear on the lead through fractions of 23.93, 48.09, and 1:11.95 seconds. She gained the lead after a mile in 1:36.29 and drove clear to notch the second Grade 1 victory of her career as the slight favorite over second choice Flat Out.
