Netherlands Recap Wesley Sneijder scored the go-ahead goal in the second half for the Dutch as the Netherlands defeated Brazil 2-1 in their quarterfinal of the World Cup at Port Elizabeth, South Africa. Netherlands drew level at 1-1 against Brazil in their World Cup quarter-final on Friday after a 53rd minute own goal credited to midfielder Felipe Melo. Wesley Sneijder picked up the ball on the right and delivered a powerful cross that was missed by Brazil keeper Julio Cesar and was adjudged to have touched Felipe Melo as it sailed into the net. Robinho opened the scoring for Brazil in the 10th minute. In the second quarterfinal later today, Uruguay will face Ghana in Johannesburg, with the winner matching up against the Netherlands-Brazil winner in a semifinal next Tuesday. Melo returned to Brazil's lineup. He missed Brazil's 3-0 victory over Chile because of a left ankle injury. Brazil is without midfielder Elano, who is out for the third consecutive match because of a right ankle injury and Ramires, who replaced Felipe Melo against Chile, is suspended after picking up a second yellow card of the competition. The Dutch made no changes to the lineup that beat Slovakia 2-1 in the second round. Midfielder Rafael van der Vaart remains on the bench despite recovering from a left calf injury he picked up in training before the Slovakia match.
