2008 Summer Olympics Team USA Basketball Quick Hitter with Dana Ward

gamblerstelevision.com Team USA Basketball assembled for a minicamp workout this past weekend at the campus of UNLV in Las Vegas. The goal for this year’s team is the Gold Medal and anything short of it will be a major disappointment. Many of the players and coaches from Team USA gave a 3-year commitment to their national team so one can understand the importance of this trip to Beijing for Olympic competition. The 12-member squad has already been announced and is headed by Kobe Bryant, Lebron James and Dwayne Wade. The team went through 1 day of practice and orientation to prepare for their full training camp that begins on July 21st. Team USA opens play in Group B against the host country China on August 10th in the preliminary stages of the Men’s Basketball competition. China’s Yao Ming returned to training for the China National Team and reported that the stress fracture on his left foot suffered during the NBA season was 80% healed. Doctor’s have told the Houston Rocket center that his injury usually takes a full year to heal and there’s a good chance it wont be until February of 2009 when he is 100%. But do to the pressures of playing for his host country Yao will give it a go. Team USA’........
