1 of 2 Alligators Captured In Davie 6/7/06 Noon Nefertiti Jaquez The backyards of a Davie neighborhood are a little bit safer after a trapper captured one of two alligators spotted roaming the area. According to Davie Police, a woman saw one reptile in her backyard before it crawled back into a lake behind her home. She believes the gator is about 9 feet long. Trappers were called out to the area of 5550 SW 67th Terrace but said Tuesday that unless the gators present a threat to humans, they cannot remove them. However, the trapper did show up Wednesday morning and captured one of the two gators. The gators were seen targeting ducks and geese that live around the lake but residents feared for their pets and even children in the area. One nearby resident told CBS4 News that while people don't swim in the lake, some dogs do and people do go boating on the lake. In addition, there's a daycare center nearby.
