The waste gas leaked from a pipeline of Guigang Iron and Steel Company Thursday in the city of Guigang. SOUNDBITE (CHINESE) LOCAL VILLAGER "It was around 6 or 7 p.m. on Thursday. The stinky black smoke leaked out. The smoke has been surrounding us. It's very very stinky. You can smell it even now." All the 97 people live nearby the plant. They are suffered carbon monoxide poisoning. Seven of them are severely sickened. However, none of their lives are in danger. The leaking pipeline at the company has already been shut off.
