From Xinhua News Agency: (0724 CR M13)CREDIT FILES FOR FOOD SAFETY DATELINE: July 24, 2011 LENGTH: 00:00:50 VO China's top quality watchdog said Saturday that it will build credit files for all the food companies and food-additive producers in the country before the end of the year. The General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection, and Quarantine said the mechanism will help better supervise companies for the quality of their products. This comes as food safety becomes a growing public concern in China. In the first five months of this year, quality regulators across the country found more than 3,000 companies involving in illegal use of food additives. Authorities also revoked the production licenses of 24 food companies and three other food-additive companies.
