It followed a request made by China's Cabinet earlier this month, in a bid to create a more transparent government. PKG The Ministry of Finance said 88 of China's 98 central government departments had publicized their budgets by Friday - 13 more than that of last year. The Ministry of Science and Technology was the first to do so this year, publishing its annual budget on April 14. Earlier this month, the State Council, China's Cabinet, ordered that all central government departments publicize their budgets. The central government departments are expected to provide detailed information concerning how much they have spent and are planning to spend on overseas travel, receptions, and official cars.
