Nearly three-quarters of women would like to be thinner but most think size zero figures are unattractive.The poll, for ITV1 show The Truth About Size Zero, discovered women admired curvy figures like Kate Winslet, Sophia Loren and Marilyn Monroe more than Madonna's sinewy frame or Victoria Beckham's slim build.Less than a quarter (23 per cent) of the 1,206 women questioned were happy with their current dress size and 72 per cent wanted to lose weight, but size 12 was seen as the most desirable figure (27 per cent).Pressure to be thin was felt strongest among the 16-34 age group (54 per cent) but dropped to 29 per cent of those aged 55 and over.In the programme, singer Louise Redknapp tries a crash diet and extreme exercise regime in an attempt to drop to a US dress size zero in just 30 days.The programme will be shown on ITV1 at 9pm on Wednesday March 7.© Independent Television News Limited 2007.
