(NECN: Katie Daly, Worcester, Mass.) - For Sabrina Mel of Worcester, applying to college is a big step. Her mother and father immigrated to the United States from Cambodia hoping to give their children a better life. The senior at South High School is proud to be the first in her family to have the chance to attend college. But Sabrina admits, the application process has also been overwhelming. That’s why she jumped at the chance to team up with a mentor. Volunteers from Unum, an employee benefits provider in downtown Worcester, decided to help out students like Sabrina. read more
