Winona's dark comeback

Winona Ryder is returning to the big screen in hi-tech animation A Scanner Darkly. She stars alongside Keanu Reeves and Robert Downey Jr in the movie which looks like a living comic book. Adapted from the novel by sci-fi master Philip K Dick, the action's set seven years in the future. The characters are in the grip of a mysterious new drug called Substance D, which is making them increasingly paranoid. Reeves plays an undercover cop assigned to spy on the activities of his circle of associates, including Ryder, Downey, Harrelson and 'Dazed and Confused' co-star Rory Cochrane. A Scanner Darkly gets its US release in 2 weeks time, hitting our shores in August.
