READ FIRST- This vid is a review about American Dragon Jake Long. Why this show should be saved? What do I think about it? This video contains my personal opinion about the show. It must be saved... I cannot just leave it like this! Mr.Goode - I hope you'll see this! READING VERSION : Why Save Jake Long? This message is for the creators of this show. I want to make sure that American Dragon Jake Long will get the 3rd season , cause it deserves it -- for sure. Also , dear ADJL fans -- say what you think about it after hearing this speech about the show. The Story American Dragon Jake Long is about a young kid from New York. He's half-American and half-Chinese and loves Skateboarding. His best friends are Trixie Carter and Arthur "Spud" Spudinski. When Jake turns 13 he suddenly gains mystical powers and becomes a shape-shifting dragon. It seems that he's a descendent of a family of Dragons. His grandfather is also a dragon and he becomes Jake's teacher how to control his powers. There's also Fu Dog who's Jake's animal guardian. Jake's duty is to protect the world of magical creatures that live underground. Humans don't know anything about their existence. But there's one man that wants to reveal the truth -- Hans Rotwood , Jake's mythology teacher. And there's someone else who plays a minor role in the show -- Rose. She's Jakes love interest. But Rose's isn't an ordinary girl. She's a member of an ancient tribe called Huntsclan. The tribe is fighting against all the magical creatures. Their leader is Huntsman , a veteran at fighting the creatures. The show is separated into 2 seasons. In the 1st season Jake is fighting against Hunstclan , until Rose discovers that her boyfriend is a dragon. In the 2nd season Rose is helping Jake and the rest of the magical underground to fight the ones who rised her -- the Huntsclan. Something original or a copycat? Many people compare ADJL to Danny Phantom -- a show cancelled couple of year ago. The story was a bit similar to American Dragon -- a kid with special powers , 2 best friend and a love interest... But I think this is a coincidence. The show features a lots of fighting sequences which are... kinda violent. Motion Blur in the 2nd season is a step forward to japanease anime. Some people love it , others don't... Personally I think this is an awesome idea. The humor in the show is quite funny , but there are some dialogues that are typical for childish cartoons. Many fans are annoyed about the way Jake talks. His gangsta-wannabe style can be very annoying. But in the 2nd season creators toned down it a bit... Also the main theme music is performed by Mavin in the 1st season and The Jonas Brothers in the 2nd . The lyrics are allright , they match the show , but the song is also very childish. Talking about the music in the show -- it's really well done. The music was composed by Billy Lincoln. In the background you can hear a typical movie score. But there are moments when a hard rock or industrial music can be heard like in the fight against the Fury in "Bring It On"... ...or the fight against crylock in "Half-Baked". That's what I like... The Future of the show In the end I think this show is very original. Why? Maybe because I'm a big fantasy fan.... and I love dragons. The show must go on -- 52 episodes aren't enough. The plot is not finished -- there are some characters that have been forgotten. I think THIS is a good excuse why American Dragon should be continued. So please , mr. Jeff Goode and other creators of this American Dragon Jake Long -- don't stop making the show!!
