Who does Steven Gerrard want to win the Champions League?

Steven Gerrard has had to field the awkward question of whether he will support Manchester United in the Champions League final. The midfielder has had to watch his bitter rivals win the Premier League despite Liverpool leading the way for much of the season. He could now see the Red Devils pick up the Champions League trophy, with Liverpool having been knocked out in the quarter-finals by Chelsea. Speaking about the final in Rome on Wednesday, Gerrard said: "I hope it's a very good game from a neutral point of view. I'll be watching the game and hope there is a lot of entertainment." But when pushed on whether he would be cheering on United, he said:"It's obviously a difficult question. But I've got a lot of good friends who play for Manchester United so I hope they win, although obviously I'm sitting on the fence."
