Snow fall in the South East overnight disrupted rail and road travel around London prompting transport chiefs to blame Underground contractors for failing to prepare for icy weather. Early morning commuters faced severe delays on the tube and rail routes after just a couple of centimetres of snow fell in and around the capital with more in Kent and Sussex. But travellers in the Czech Republic had decidedly more to worry about. A thick layer of snow and ice caused crashes on many major roads...dozens of flights to Prague were grounded and elsewhere in Europe...where passengers were stranded at German, Swiss and Italian airports.
