The Dow Jones closed up 47 points at 8515.55. The S&P 500 was up 4.65 points at 872.80. The Nasdaq was up 5.34 points to close at 1530.24. Crude oil settled up at $37.71 a barrel. Makaiya Brown reports from New York.
