London Mayor Ken Livingstone is at the centre of a controversy after London's press arrived in Venezuela to cover his trip there, only for him to pull out with a couple of hours notice. The previous week, he arrived unannounced in Cuba, apparently a last-minute decision made as he was already on his way to South America. The main purpose of the trip, to visit Venezuela, was reportedly cancelled because Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez no longer had time to meet to conclude an oil deal.
