Actress Lindsay Lohan has reportedly turned herself in to face charges of driving under the influence in connection with a car crash in May this year. Officer Brian Ballieweg has been cited as saying the 21-year-old actress was accompanied by her lawyer, when she surrendered at the Beverly Hills Police Department to be fingerprinted and photographed. A Los Angeles County Sheriff's website record reportedly showed she was taken into custody at about 4 p.m. and booked 15 minutes later. She was released an hour later in lieu of $30,000 bail. A court date was scheduled for August 24. Ms Lohan was first arrested on May 26 after her car mounted a curb and hit a shrub on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles. Officer Ballieweg said the actress' blood-alcohol level was above California's 0.08 percent legal limit at the time of the crash. He said Ms Lohan was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol and over a hit-and-run offence. Police said Lohan and two other adults were in her 2005 Mercedes SL-65 convertible when it crashed. Police said Lohan got into a second car and was driven to a hospital in Century City for minor injuries. The others in her car were not hurt. Officers received a 911 call about the accident and traced her to the hospital. Lohan recently checked out of a rehabilitation centre after a stay of more than six weeks. It was her second stint in rehab this year. She also spent a month in a rehab centre in January.
