With cocky smiles two American men arrived at court on Thursday (February 1) after an elaborate publicity stunt -- planting blinking devices that were mistaken for bombs -- caused Boston's biggest security scare since the Sept. 11 attacks. Sean Stevens, 28, and Peter Berdovsky, 27, face charges of placing a hoax device and disorderly conduct. Police were put on alert and roads and bridges were closed on Wednesday (January 31) after police found at least nine "suspicious devices" including circuit boards, lights and batteries at key transportation hubs around the city. Police mistook the small, battery-powered electronic billboards as possible improvised bombs. Turner Broadcasting, a unit of Time Warner Inc., late Wednesday said it was responsible for the devices, which had been installed in 10 major U.S. cities. The devices were intended to promote the "Aqua Teen Hunger Force" cartoon show.
