A gun shop owner from Roanoke, Virginia reacts today to the shootings at Virginia Tech. This gun shop is where the suspect bought the 9 mm firearm used in the shooting. The owner of the gun shop where one of the handguns from Monday's (April 16) shootings was bought said Tuesday (April 17) he felt no responsibility for them According to John Markell, owner of the Roanoke Firearms, Cho Seung-Hui purchased a Glock 9mm pistol and a box of practice ammo from his store a little over a month ago for 571 dollars. Virginia Police, who found a receipt in Seung-Hui's room on campus that led them to the store, say the weapon was purchased legally. While Markell said he feels terrible about a gun from his store being used in the rampage, he does not feel it was his fault. "I don't feel responsible. He would have gotten the gun.. he could gotten one legally anywhere. I'm just sorry he chose us," Markell said. "He could have bought everything right there. He could have bought the extra magazines, the ammunition he needed. Nobody waits five weeks. You don't get mad and take revenge five weeks later. Something happened to that young man very quickly. It angered him quickly and he took advantage." Investigators are still trying to determine Seung-Hui's motive for the shootings which left 32 dead.
