USA: Perennial favorites Jingle Cats and Jingle Dogs return with their favorite yuletime tunes

Man's best holiday friends, The Jingle Dogs, are back in the studio while their feline labelmates, The Jingle Cats, most famous for their 1993 meowed version of "Jingle Bells" continue to rake in the royalties. "The newest Jingle Cats music release is the Jingle Dogs doing the 'Jingle Bells Dog Mix' which is kind of upbeat kind of punk rock version of Jingle bells with the Jingle Dogs barking. We have a new video for that that is really cool," says Mike Spalla, 'Jingle Cats' creator and producer as he holds his cat (Jingle Cat, that is) Binky. The Jingle Dogs songs features the barks, howls and woofs of over 100 real dogs. The dogs were recorded on location over a period of two years in various parts of Los Angeles and Ventura County in California. The Jingle Dogs have completed work on their first non-holiday album entitled 'King of the Woof' which will be released in early 2006. Their previous album, 'Christmas Unleashed,' was released in 1995. The songs are published by the Jingle Cats Music label, which has produced several Christmas albums featuring the the real meows and purrs of cats, and the real barks and howls of dogs. Among the feline albums are 'Meowy Christmas' (1993), 'Here Comes Santa Claws' (1994), the Jingle Dogs 'Christmas Unleashed' (1995) and most recently, Jingle Cats 'Rhythm and Mews' CD/DVD (2002). And Spalla keeps up with the latest in technology, as the songs are now available on ITunes.. "The Jingle Cats' original album, 'Meowy Christmas,' was based on the best old Christmas music which is great music. I really enjoyed doing the music and working with old songs when you add the greatest old songs ever written plus cats it is just fantastic," said Spalla. The 'Dogs' and 'Cats' are popular in Brazil, Japan, Hong Kong, India, the United Kingdom amongst others. Jingle Cats Music has sold over two million albums worldwide. The Jingle Dogs, a singing group comprised of real dogs, have released a new single for the holiday season entitled 'JINGLE BELLS DOG MIX.'
