Talk-show host and billionaire philanthropist Oprah Winfrey has spoken out for the first time about a child abuse scandal at the Leadership Academy for Girls she opened in South Africa in early 2007. Ms Winfrey described the scandal as 'the most devastating experience of her life' and said she was 'shaken to her core' when the allegations surfaced. South African police have charged a matron at the school with 13 counts of indecent assault and criminal injury against at least 6 students.
