Britney Spears' better half Kevin Federline was the center of attention as he premiered his new song at the 2006 Teen Choice Awards in Los Angeles, California on Sunday (August 20). "I caught a little of the K- Fed in there but just like a smidgen just a tiny iota of what he is going to be doing and I think he is going to bring it. I think he is gonna bring the thunder," said Dane Cook who co hosted the show with Jessica Simpson because the pair co-star in the movie 'Employee of the Month' out soon. Federline had celebrities on the red carpet a buzz with anticipation for his hip-hop performance of Lose Control. "I happened to be rehearsing the other day and he was at the same rehearsal hall and it looks like he has a big production going so I am excited to see that performance. I know Jessica Simpson is going to be hosting the show I think she has got such a great and bubbly personality so I think she is going to work it," Christina Milian, a singer and actress, told Reuters. Spears and Simpson are some of the past teen queens that were honoured at this award show, which is voted online by fans, and have now moved onto bigger and better things paving the way for new hopefuls. "How the torch gets passed? I just think it's something that happens as time goes on. You know some artist are trendy and they move away and others come in and then it's time for the new girls to come in with something fresh. So now Jessica is at her height of fame and there are new girls moving in and I think that it is just how things go in this crazy world," singer JoJo said on the red carpet arrival line at the Universal Amphitheatre. Casual clothes, a good time, and less stress is how some of the celebrities compare this award show to its many competitors, "It's more fun than stress. When you are at the Grammys or at the Emmys or whatever your knees are shaking you are sweating you are like sweating going like going 'Oh my g-d am I going to win.?' But this you come because even if you don't win you know you are going to have a good time," singer Neyo said. The show winners who were lucky enough to take home the surfboard prize included such A-listers as Academy Award winner Reese Witherspoon, Adam Sandler, Sandra Bullock, Keanu Reeves, Nick Lachey, Jessica Alba amongst others. "No kidding it is bigger than an Oscar. I just want to say thank you to all of you everybody that voted for me it has been such an amazing year", said Reese Witherspoon, winner of Teen Choice Award for actress in drama/action adventure for "Walk the Line". Highlights of the show included a pregnant dark- haired Spears' bubbly introduction of "her man" and a taped segment of Jennifer Aniston and Vince Vaughn accepting their award for on screen chemistry for their film The Break-Up. "Well Vince you probably have enough chemistry for all of us," Jennifer Aniston joked. The show boasts something for everyone in the television, film, fashion, movies and music department including additional performances by Nelly Furtado winner of R&B/Hip-Hop track, Song of the summer, and V cast music artist featuring Timbaland "Promiscuous" and Jay- Z protégé Rihanna who performed her hit S.O.S and won R&B artist and Breakout music female. "Is she going to be on there? Promiscuous girl I am singing Timbaland's part. I love that song", Milian told Reuters as she was singing up a storm in a baby doll cream dress on the red carpet. For now Federline will have to step aside in the heart throb department because the night belonged to the boys of the box office smash hit Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest which is nearing the one billion dollar mark at the box office. The team of Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom drove the audience wild with screams and shrieks of delight when they won 17 Teen Choice awards for their film.
