USA: Contraceptive pill available without prescription

It's one of the most contentious rows of the Bush presidency - and a central part of America's debate on abortion - but for the first time, health officials have allowed a contraceptive pill to be made available without prescription. Anyone over 18 can now walk into a pharmacist and buy the Morning After pill - Plan B - over the counter. Ssupporters say it's perfectly safe, and will reduce unwanted pregnancies and abortions. But pro-life groups are furious.
