USA: Celebrities weigh in on young entertainers growing up in Hollywood fast lane at 20th Annual Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards

Celebrities celebrated green slime and young Hollywood at the 20th annual Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards on Saturday (March 31) in Los Angeles, California. Just one week after 25 - year- old Britney Spears was release from rehab, parents and young stars were questioning whether young kids grow up too fast in the Hollywood spotlight. "I think it's really sad to be honest and I feel like my heart goes out to her and like the family and everything. You know I think you have to just keep grounded and kind of as hard as you can to stay away from all that and you know some people get lucky and do stay away from it and some people don't," said Emma Roberts, a 16- Year Old- actress and niece of Julia Roberts. At the show Dakota Fanning won favourite female movie star while host Justin Timberlake was sprayed with green slime. Rapper Reverend Run of RUN DMC , whose young kids have experienced fame in his reality television show Run's house, says he keeps his eyes open to their extravagant lifestyle. "It depends on whose kids you are. Will Smith's kids are taking their time. My kids moved out here and I am going to follow them around and they are going to take their time so it depends on the parenting. You grow up quick if you don't separate Hollywood from home. You got to separate 'H from H' when you are in Hollywood you do your work and when you come home you take out the garbage and be normal. But if you try and mix the glitz with the home plan it gets mixed and you get confused," said Rapper Run of Run DMC. Fanning the star of "Charlotte's Web," and her young sister Elle who was in the hit movie "Babel" feel that they grown up the same as their friends "You know I have gotten to go places that I might have not gotten to go normally which is very exciting but I have grown up the same way (as non acting children)," said 13 -year - old Fanning. Young troubled Hollywood actors like Drew Barrymoore have gone on to have long fruitful careers or some end up on the wrong side of the law. Spears auditioned for "The Mickey Mouse Club" when she 8, however she was too young to get the part. Instead, Britney, her mother and baby sister moved to New York where she starred in several TV adverts and an off broad-way play "Ruthless", where she was under-study with actress Natalie Portman. Two years later she auditioned for in Mickey Mouse again and this time won the part along with Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake. "I think it's ups and downs and I think she will come back. This is what she does and she has done it for a long time it just kind of part of the job you know that you have the down part of it," said actor Justin Chambers, of Grey's Anatomy. Mandy Moore who got doused in the green slime during the opening number explained how she thinks she made it through the business unscathed. "My only bit of advice would be to surround yourself with good people . Your family, your friends people that keep you grounded and know who you are and won't treat you any different regardless of what happens," said 22- year -old Moore on the arrival line. Nicole Kidman, Queen Latifah, Tobey Maguire, and Gwen Stefani joined in on Hollywood's messiest, most raucous celebration honouring kid viewers' personal picks online for best movies, music and TV shows.
