Celebrities had a chance to celebrate their Golden Globe nominations and awards on Monday (January 15) at the annual In Style / Warner Bros. Pictures Golden Globes after-party at the Beverly Hilton hotel in California. "It's kind of surreal you know? You lose sense of time, but it's beautiful. it's a beautiful feeling -- it's adrenaline in your body," said movie director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu at the Paramount Pictures after party, after winning for his film "Babel". The list of Globe winners this year complied with conventional wisdom, although some Oscars voters may find the selection of "Babel" as 2006's best drama a bit too gut-wrenching. British comedian Sacha Baron Cohen, who plays a dim-witted reporter in "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan," was given the award for best actor in a film musical or comedy. "Dreamgirls" won three awards, more than any other film, including best supporting actor and actress for Eddie Murphy and Jennifer Hudson. "Eddie was a little nervous, you know? And Eddie's my hero, it's great to see him recognised not just for this role, but I believe, for everything that he's given us," said actor Jamie Foxx about his "Dreamgirls" co-stars. "Oh my goodness, that was the highlight moment for me. I saw the movie, I just saw the movie like last week, and it just blew me away. Her performance as Effie, the actress, and as the singer. She's amazing," added Mary J. Blige, about Jennifer Hudson's win. The performers also offered plenty of praise for colleagues they had worked with in the past. "It's great, yeah, Forest - I did "Bird" with him years ago, and we didn't get much going, but now he's getting it this year," said Golden Globe winner Clint Eastwood of Forest Whitaker's win. "Oh it was fantastic. So happy for Clint," said Hilary Swank, who worked with Eastwood on "Million Dollar Baby" which won best film at the Oscars in 2005. Stars sparkled at the ceremony and the parties afterwards in dazzling gowns in gold, silver, blue and white. "It's fun to come to this party, and party with all the people. Very festive, I love it," said Julia Louis-Dreyfus, wearing a knee-length dress in gold. White was favoured by stars such as Salma Hayek, model Heidi Klum, and Kyra Sedgwick. "I have to tell you I was completely shocked, I'm still in shock," Sedgwick said of her Golden Globe win for "The Closer". The Globes, produced by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, may not always predict the final Oscar winners but they help set the debate in the hectic weeks leading up to the film industry's highest honours.
