Actor Johnny Depp made his mark in Hollywood on Friday (September 16), literally, as he placed his hands and feet in the cement in front of the world-famous Grauman's Chinese Theater. Depp has earned a reputation for choosing risky roles and creating unique and memorable characters like Edward Scissorhands, Willy Wonka and Captain Jack Sparrow. As Depp stepped up to the Podium to receive accolades for his honors, legendary but unofficial Mayor of Hollywood Johnny Grant joked about Depp's previous choice of roles. The event coincides with the release of Depp's latest film, 'Corpse Bride' which is the actor's fifth collaboration with director Tim Burton. Depp most recently appeared in Burton's 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' portraying eccentric chocolatier Willy Wonka. At Depp's side was his longtime girlfriend French actress and singer Vanessa Paradis. The beautiful actress who has two children with Depp has said she has no plans to marry the Hollywood heartthrob. Depp, who received Oscar and Golden Globe nominations for his portrayals of J.M. Barrie in 'Finding Neverland' and of Captain Jack Sparrow in 'Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl' is currently filming 'Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest'' and 'Pirates of the Caribbean 3'. Early in his career, Depp made a name for himself portraying undercover detective Tom Hanson on the Fox television show '21 Jump Street'. He then appeared in John Waters' 'Cry Baby' and teamed with Burton on 'Edward Scissorhands' and 'Ed Wood' His screen credits also include 'Nightmare on Elm Street', 'Platoon', 'Donnie Brasco', 'What's Eating Gilbert Grape' and 'Don Juan Demarco' in which he appeared with Marlon Brando and Faye Dunaway. Depp's hand and foot prints are in good company, alongside the likes of Hollywood screen legends John Wayne and Marilyn Monroe among others.
