Academy Award Winner Charlize Theron and the cast of "Aeon Flux" premiered the sci- fi thriller in Los Angeles, California on Thursday (December 1). The South African actress who stars as Aeon Flux in the film set 400 years in the future as a top underground operative at war with the totalitarian regime said that her 12 years of ballet experience helped her stamina in performing her own stunts. "I did that until I was about 19 so I mean there is an essence about that that always stays with you and that was incredibly helpful because this character was very agile and everything about her was kind of her moves were very graceful. So there is elements of that dance background that was incredibly helpful. You know I had done "Monster" and for a year did not do anything with my body and it was not just about losing weight but to get that strength back, that core strength back and to be capable of doing those things kicked my ass it was not easy," Theron told Reuters. The film is based on animated characters cheated by Peter Chung that were made famous by die hard science fiction fans on MTV. "I think it allows us the ability to propel into another world. Imagination, fantasy, creativity is very important and in a way it divorces ourselves from reality but at the same time there is a thread that connects us so it enables us to make more sense of the world that we live in and see it through different eyes and that is thankfully why we are human beings, " said actor Marton Csokas about science fiction. The film which is released on December 2, is directed by director Karyn Kusama who made her mark on Hollywood when she directed "Girlfight". "She was really sitting down with us and rehearsing the dialogue. I mean me and Martin got to sit down a lot with her when we got most of our stuff together you know work out stuff with the writers you know if we were not too sure about the dialogue or whatever so that was nice especially on a big budget job," Actor Johnny Lee Miller said in praise of Kusama. The sexy costumes were not Therons' main concern. A freak accident involving the former fashion model happened while on location in Germany and just ten days into shooting, production ground to a halt. "I had a little accident where I slipped doing a back hand spring and landed on my neck and herniated a disc and we had to shut down for about six weeks. I came back here and did some intense physio-therapy. It was one of those injuries that take a really long time, but for the last three months I have had absolutely no pain so knock on wood. I have had some great doctors take care of me and I feel really blessed and lucky today to still be able to use these so you do not walk away from something like that and not understand how fortunate you are," Theron said. The actress, who was back on set just eight weeks after her life-threatening fall, put to rumours any speculation of pending nuptials between her and long term boyfriend actor Stuart Townsend. The actors have decided to tie the knot the day it becomes legal for gays and lesbians to wed across America. "I think it is a very personal choice and it has been a very personal choice for me and for my boyfriend. I think at the end of the day when people keep asking you, you really kind of question it. You sit down and you really analyse well marriage, what is it really? And if it really is a celebration of love then anybody should be able to do that. So I think that we are both coming from a place that if we ever did it, it would not be what marriage is constitutionally right now. Because I believe that it should be a right for everybody else", Theron said at the Los Angeles premiere.
