"007" Roger Moore gets his star in Hollywood. Roger Moore, the actor who held the "007's" license to kill from 1973 to 1985, was honored on Thursday (October 11, 2007) with a star on the Hollywood "Walk of Fame." The 79-year-old actor, who starred as James Bond in seven films, said he was very grateful for the role of "007." "But, there again the Hollywood moguls in all their wisdom, kissed me goodbye and I went back to Europe, where I managed to get a job playing seven years in "The Saint," explained Moore. "I got to work with Tony Curtis playing in "The Pursaders." And then they decided that I would replace Sean Connery as Bond. I was very grateful that I was able to make seven of those, I guess seven is my lucky number. Sadly, I had to retire because the girls just got too young or I was getting too old. It was rather disgusting, kind of like love in the afternoon. There is nothing wrong with that." Moore, initially came to Hollywood in 1953, where his good looks landed him several supporting roles opposite the day's leading ladies. "When I first came to this town, April 1, 1954, I walked onto a sound stage and kissed Elizabeth Taylor. I was so good at kissing Elizabeth Taylor that I did a film with Eleanor Parker and I got to kiss her on the cheek, because she played my sister or I played her brother. Then I made a film with Lana Turner and I got to kiss Lana Turner. I was so good at that that MGM kissed me goodbye. I then went to Warner Bros. and I made a film called the "Miracle" and I got to kiss Carol Baker. I then made a film a film called " Sins of Rachel Cade" and I kissed Angie Dickensen. I then made a western with Clint Walker, I did not kiss him." Moore would go onto star as Simon Templar in the popular television series, "The Saint." But it is his role as Bond that helped him achieve worldwide fame.
