A man in the US is being questioned in connection with alleged terror plots targeting a shopping centre, the American military and two government figures. US federal prosecutors have charged Tarek Mehanna, 27, from Sudbury, Massachusetts, with conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists. He and co-conspirators are accused of travelling to the Middle-East for training, discussing attacks on shopping malls, and distributing "jihadi" videos. The US Justice Department said Mehanna had been previously indicted in January for making false statements to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and other officials in connection with a terrorism investigation. At least two other co-conspirators were involved, a spokeswoman said.
