Some of the world's most famous names, usually appearing in front of the cameras, gathered in London on Thursday (September 14) to launch of a unique photographic exhibition - which they themselves created. Some one hundred fashion icons from Paul Smith to Donatella Versace were asked to capture an image that reflects their personal relationship with the world of fashion. The resulting photographic collection is a unique insight into what lies beyond the glitz and glamour of the catwalk. Supplied with a Canon IXUS 65 digital camera, the fashionistas produced a personal collection of photographs that offers insight into their world. "When they gave me the camera, I thought 'oh, what a nightmare, what am I going to do? What am I going to do?' And I though everybody would do something fashiony and pretentious. And Liz (Hurley) is a friend of mine, I helped her put on her first bikini show. She was in my campaign last season, I was backstage on the beach in Cannes during movie week and there it was, she was just in the middle of all this. And this is why I love fashion. I mean I am a gay man but how much hotter can you get?" explained British designer Patrick Cox. Some of the other names participating in the charity campaign included Christian Lacroix, Roberto Cavalli, Stefano Gabbana, Jimmy Choo and Helena Christensen. 'The Other Side of Fashion' will tour the fashion capitals of Europe, starting at Selfridges department store in London. All proceeds will go to the Red Cross, in support of their work on youth projects throughout Europe. From London, the exhibition will travel to Milan and go on public display at Palazzo Reale and then move to Paris' Galleries Lafayette until mid-October. Prints from the exhibition will be made available for purchase, and a glossy magazine of the images will go on sale across Europe on September
