TV Show Idea: Gang of Daggers teen action drama

TV Show Idea: Gang of Daggers teen action drama

"A Gang of Daggers" tv show, based off of this book I have just written. For the tv show, there would be magic, but it would be real subtle. It's not going to be flashy, wierd sound stuff. The scenario I was going to talk about was the idea that Joey, in his senior year, has developed a doppelganger, a clone of himself. It is a magical construct that appears and disappears at will. Joey sends the construct out to do night jobs. So it will work at a radio station, as a janitor, whatever. The thing is, it's dumb, dull. It has no personality, a blank stare. People think "Joey" is retarded, give the clone a wide berth and don't interact. Then I thought, what if "Joey" gets on the metro at one particular point every day and stands in one spot, looking one way everyday, regardless of who is there. And someone finally takes notice and "freaks out." Anyways, Joey would occasionally be seen with "Joey" and that might be interesting if someone makes the connection. Otherwise, the only other magic is people things disappearing and appearing at random, because they would have the ability to turn things invisible and bring certain things to themselves at a whim. In "reality," Joey is a loser, and so recruited by "the gang." As a result, Joey changes, grows, develops and gets buff, and he's got a purpose, and he's always busy. So the same group of kids now notice Joey and wonder about him. When they stop and ask him, Joey blows them off. Letting them know he knows how to fight, with weapons, but they think he's been practicing kung fu or karate. In their senior year, the seniors will be responsible for training the younger kids, but otherwise, they are the people who have survived leading military campaigns on this other world. They have won victory and acclaim and amassed body and kill counts. Senior year is a breeze, a vacation for them, they can now think about college. "Sword Camp," where kids can come for however many months they can, and learn to fight with weapons, and get involved in filming the "army" scenes, and battles, too. Maybe 13, but 14, 15, and on up kids can go and learn to fight, and have fun. And sweat. If a person can become a master with a particular weapon, they can come for free and train people how to use a weapon. The battles would be realistic, in a wierd way. Society of Creative Anachronism would dig it, as well as Real Life Action Role Playing games (LARPers). You could also, fairly easily, organize this event. The other reason why I think the New York High School of the Arts would appreciate filming the show there is because the school will conceivably start from a horrible state of affairs, with gang violence, graphitti, and things being in chaos. But the school will clean up it's act, and show how to effectively do that, teachers and students can learn how to properly handle certain situations, how to react. So later, there can be Columbine and Virginia Tech situations and how to react to those, and survive, and how to prevent. Fans of Buffy the Vampire Slayer will dig this show, hopefully. Actors can attempt any role or situation, and we'll see if we can film it, and get it in. Heck, even kids could attempt assuming gang leadership. It would really help kids resumes. I support the arts.
