Turtle Nest Hatching 8 12 09 Gulf Shores Alabama B3

This nest is located on Laguna Key, Gulf Shores, Alabama. It contained 111 eggs. It was found June 19, 2009 by Tom Dodd, a volunteer from "Share the Beach." The eggs hatched on August 12, 2009. The first egg hatched at 4:30 pm during a thunderstorm. 107 more followed at 7:30 pm This is an unusual daytime hatching of loggerheads.
