
Turkey's Constitutional Court is considering a request from prosecutors to outlaw the governing Justice and Development Party of Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on charges that it is undermining the country's secular system by mixing Islam with politics. Erdogan, whose government has presided over six years of economic growth, may be banned from politics for five years if the court reaches a guilty verdict.
