African Union envoy Salim Ahmed Salim was due to meet tribal leaders in el-Geneina and refugees in camps in and around Zalengei town. He said an agreement to deploy a joint 26,000-strong U.N.-African Union mission to Darfur would improve monitoring mechanisms to hold to account those violating a ceasefire.
