Transport : public transport regulation

On 20/07/05 the Commission proposed a revision of the rule governing transport services for road and rail passengers, aimed at providing a definite framework adapted to the needs of authorities to allow them to organise their public transport and finance public services. After the first reading in the European Parliament, the Council aims to reach a political agreement. In line with the agenda of the next Council of Transport Ministers, which will take place in Luxembourg on 09/06/06, the European Commission's audiovisual service proposes an info clip containing the following images: - public transport network (tram, bus), Transpole, private company, Lille, France - public bus network, S.R.W.T. (Société Régionale Wallonne du Transport, TEC), province of Brabant, Belgium - public bus service, French company Transdev, branch of the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations, managing a bus network in London, United Kingdom.
