Tory Burch Fall O8 Show- New York Fashion Week

In just four short years Tory Burch has had wild success with her clothing line and this fall 2008 collection continues to impress. The designer put on a small, private show at Christies Auction house that was broken down into three style stories. The first, was tweeds and a darker palette; the second, had a nautical influence; and the third, was a flashback to the 60s with bright colors and psychedelic prints. The fall line-up was heavy on fitted shift dresses, hitting just above the knee paired with unbuttoned cardigans in Burch’s signature geometric patterns and flashy floral. Pants ranged from fitted, equestrian styles tucked into tall boots to flowing trousers with silky, tie-neck blouses. Overall the collection was the perfect balance of ladylike and playful. If there was one stand-out piece it was a metallic leather trench. The designer’s own shoe and bag collection accessorized each model from fringed hippie-inspired clutches to chunky black patent leather platforms.
